Felt like cooking tonight…haven’t updated this  blog in a while but I guess I can now that my Kings season is done.  At least the Galaxy have a few games to keep my occupied.  but now that the season is done i will try to update this thing more often.

The one big blog entry since hockey has started back up.  The one day all three of my laptops decide to die on me, figured I can spend the day in the kitchen.  And thankfully all of them have been fixed since then.  Went all out on this one.  Roasted duck, some chicken rice, and duck lettuce wraps.

Honey
Rice Wine
White Vinegar
Corn Starch
Water

Chicken thighs, cut into bite sized pieces
Oyster Sauce
Light Soy Sauce
Garlic, minced

Chicken Broth

Duck Lettuce Wrap Ingredients:

Duck meat
Soy Sauce
Oyster Sauce
Rice Wine
Sugar
Sesame Oil
Ginger
Garlic
Green Onions
Water Chestnuts
Corn starch mixed in water

Lettuce

Not the first time, and definitely not the last time I’ll be doing this.  Might even roast another duck on Saturday before heading to Honda Center to watch the Kings take on the Ducks.  But first up, Nashville Thursday.  Kings are 2-2-1 to start the season.  Hopefully the winning ways continue tomorrow.

Til the next entry…

this was just a quick lunch I made for myself before running into work one day.  Mixed rice with some spinach, beef tongue, and pork jowls, cooked with a little bit of salt and pepper.

added some salmon to that plate ive made on multiple occasions since the new year.  gave it a lil bit of a different feel.  Still as good as always.  Middle: Crab meat.  Outside: mixed rice (white and brown rice) topped with spicy tuna.  Cut some avocados and raddish sprouts to top all that off, as well as some shrimp tempura.  slices of salmon along the outside

Felt like chicken for a change…chicken thighs are baked with a little butter and garlic salt on em.  fried rice is made with andouille sausages, keilbasa, shrimp, rice, shallots, and soysauce.  Homemade gravy.  delicious =)

So I’ve been neglecting this food blog for a while…but i swear there’s a good reason…HOCKEY IS BACK!  As a result i don’t think I’ll get to update this as often, but I will when I can.  Multiple posts coming in tonight.  Lots of random food creations since my last update.  But this is just the repeat reel.  Made sushi a few more times since last update.  Here are those pics. Nothing new to explain there.

Day 10: Thursday, January 10, 2013

Hotpot!  Always a good meal.  Always keep everything for this stocked in my apartment.  It’s never long before I do this again.

Ingredients:

Soup base - chicken broth with chopped green onions

Meats: Kobe beef cubes, thin sliced beef ribeye, thin sliced pork belly, tofu

Vegetables: Spinach, enoki mushrooms

Sauce: Ponzu sauce with green onions, Sesame sauce with garlic and green onions

and rice of course.

What a delicious meal.  I ate way too much food tonight.

Day 8: Tuesday, January 8, 2013

Rather uneventful day food-wise.  Don’t think it’s really worth posting nachos and a large coke icee from the movies.  But did get to watch Django finally.  Pretty good movie.

Day 9: Wednesday, January 9, 2013

Don’t want to get rusty with my sushi.  Second time since i started the blog back up, but still delicious nonetheless.  Gotta make my way through all that tuna from the Philippines…better sooner rather than later.

Roll 1- Inside: Crab meat, avocado, shrimp tempura.  Outside: Spicy tuna, eel, avocados, eel sauce

Roll 2- Inside: Crab meat, eel, shrimp tempura, avocados, spicy tuna.  Outside: Eel sauce

Roll 3- Inside:  Eel, shrimp tempura, crab meat, avocados.  Outside: Avocados, eel sauce

Roll 4- Inside: Spicy tuna, avocados, shrimp tempura.  Outside: spicy tuna, tempura crumbs

Day 10 update coming shortly.  Just gotta upload some more pictures.

Day 6: Sunday, January 6, 2013

Took the day off in the kitchen.  Day to celebrate the end of the lockout.  Good company, good television…overall a fun night.  And thanks to the chicken not  thawing on time got to order some tg express…that hasn’t happened in a while

Day 7: Monday, January 7, 2013

Hockey’s back…so hopefully I’ll still have enough time to keep up with this in the near future.  For now I’ll cook all I can.  Tonight’s dinner menu…chicken katsu…mixed rice and a couple of fried eggs

Ingredients:

4 eggs
Flour
Japanese bread crumbs
Oil for frying
White rice
Brown Rice
Katsu sauce

Day 4: Friday, January 4, 2013

It’s my brother’s birthday.  So i guess i should eat some kind of noodles right?

Ingredients: Nissin Demae Ramen, 2 eggs, sliced pork belly, spam, green onions

Day 5: Saturday, January 5, 2013

What do you do when you have everything to make some rolls but you don’t want to do all that work?  Just throw it all on a plate…why not?  Middle:  Artificial crab meat topped with eel sauce.  Outside:  Mixed rice (white and brown rice).  Spicy tuna on top of the rice.  Shrimp tempura and avocados on top of all that.  Makes for a good meal
